• European Cup Ball 1996 (Questra Europa)

Questra Europa received the name from the ancient motto Quest for the stars - «The quest for the stars". This time the ball was decorated with heraldic lions and red roses with logos hostess of the tournament - England. But the main differences were in technology. Adidas wanted to create a light and responsive ball and experimented with a mixture of five different materials and external flexible polyurethane foam layer. The ball was softer to the touch and was moved at a higher speed. Players quickly adapted to the new features, but for goalkeepers with the advent of lightweight shell fell on hard times: sometimes the ball flew into the goal at first impossible angles. The outcome of the final match decided the first ever "Golden Goal": extra-time German player Oliver Bierhoff sent Questra Europa at the gate of the Czech national team, finishing the game with a score of 2: 1.
